Bienvenidos a Madrid!

I am finally here!! I know all of you were holding your breath until you heard I was OK. But anyway, the flight to Madrid from Chicago was quite entertaining. First of all, there were about 30-40 college students all from the SLU program on the flight. I branched myself out a bit and met as many of my fellow classmates as I could and met some cool people. In addition to the flight being chock full (chockful? I don't quite know) of college kids, there was also a freakin' toddler on the flight that cried for about 6 of the 8 hours. I think there was a unanimous least favorite person on the flight after about 10 minutes.
All of that aside, we landed around 8 am local time, so we had plenty of opportunity to see the city despite the lack of sleep. I navigated my way seamlessly from the airport to my senora's apartment (thanks to the help of Frank the taxi driver). Paloma Falco (my senora) welcomed me in along with my two roommates, Bobby and Andrew. It took us about a half hour after coming in the door to find our first beer (we get along fine, by the way). We were able to see some of the city today, but I hope to get some pictures in the near future.
1 day down, 101 to go.

hasta lluego,
Alex

P.S. These first couple of blogs may be a bit mundane, but once I get the hang of this whole deal I will just be updating quality stories. So don't stop reading yet!
